The Department of Education at UC Santa Barbara presents Chuck Huber, Senior Statistician at StataCorp, giving the talk “Bayesian Item Response Theory Using Stata” on Thursday, May 26 from 1 – 2:30 pm in Education Building 1205. The event is free and open to the public, but please RSVP to knylund@education.ucsb.edu. Lunch will be graciously provided by Stata.
Chuck Huber will give a talk that briefly reviews traditional item response theory (IRT), introduces the concepts of Bayesian statistics, demonstrates how to fit Bayesian IRT models using Stata, and discusses why Bayesian IRT models may be a useful addition to the statistician’s toolbox. It will be a relatively non-technical talk with an emphasis on concepts and no prior knowledge of IRT, Bayesian statistics or Stata is assumed.
