Emily Solari, alumna of UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School, has been selected a 2016-17 Chancellor’s Fellow. Solari is an associate professor and director of the Reading and Academic Development Center at the School of Education at UC Davis.
The Chancellor’s Fellows Program is supported in part by funds from the Davis Chancellor’s Club and the Annual Fund of the University of California, Davis. The program was established in 2000 to honor the achievements of outstanding faculty members early in their careers. In the award letter UC Davis Interim Chancellor Ralph Hexter wrote, “It is clear from your record and the information submitted by Associate Dean Mundy that the quality and significance of your research and teaching merits this recognition.”
Solari received her Ph.D. from the Department of Education in 2007, working with Dr. Michael Gerber as her advisor in the special education, disabilities and risk studies emphasis.
