UCSB's Noyce Scholarship Offerings
The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), responds to the critical need for K-12 teachers of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by encouraging talented STEM students and professionals to pursue teaching careers in elementary and secondary schools.
COLLABORATION FOR OPPORTUNITIES AND ADVANCEMENT IN STEM TEACHING AND LEARNING (COASTAL)
For UCSB Teacher Candidates Pursuing a Credential in Science or Mathematics
Noyce COASTAL Teacher Scholars are awarded each year for six years, starting with the 2020-2021 academic year. Each Scholar will receive up to a $15,000 scholarship. They will participate in cohort-building, educational enrichment, and career guidance opportunities. They can also apply to earn an Industrial and Technology Education (ITE) credential in concert with their primary credential so as to teach engineering courses; the ITE credential is administered in partnership with the Dos Pueblos High School Engineering Academy (DPEA). In exchange for the scholarship, after graduation, Noyce COASTAL Teacher Scholars must teach for two years in a high-needs school district. See the federal website for a list of high-need districts.
