The Koegel Autism Center presents the 6th International Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) Autism and Asperger’s Conference, “Motivating Change,” on September 19-20 at UC Santa Barbara’s Corwin Pavilion. Featuring Dr. Robert Koegel, Dr. Lynn Koegel, and Dr. Ty Vernon, the conference will help change lives through the empowerment of individuals, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
Topics for the conference will include: Introduction to PRT, Motivation, First-Words, Social Engagement, Self-Management Strategies, Early Intervention, Behavioral Flexibility, Classroom Strategies, Adolescent Social Facilitation, Positive Brain Changes and PRT, Job Skill Training for Adults with ASD, Incorporating Peers to Improve Communication and Social Skills, Motivational Academics, Group Parent Training, Succeeding in College, Social Skills Groups, Training School Aides, Initiations, Empathy, Goal Development and Data Collection, Strategies for Older Adolescents and Adults with ASD. Certification Opportunities are also available: PRT Level I Certification is included in the registration fee while PRT Level II Certification will be available at an additional fee.
The Koegel Autism Research and Training Center, overseen by Drs. Robert and Lynn Koegel, is dedicated to improving the lives and prognoses of children with autism, as well as the lives of their families. It has been recognized by the National Academy of Sciences – and ranked among the country’s top 12 such facilities – for its innovative research and teaching methods in a variety of areas, including parent education, language development, and teacher education. It offers a state-of-the-art behavioral approach to autistic children. The Koegel Autism Center is part of The Gevirtz School at UC Santa Barbara.
Registration fees, which include breakfast, lunch, and refreshments both days, are as follows: Regular (Sept 1st-17th) – $260; and Onsite Registration – $300. Group discounts are available (4 or more get 10% off each registration).
