The Gevirtz School (GGSE) is partnering with UC Santa Barbara’s Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) Office to offer a session in their “The Future Me Series.” These sessions introduce high schoolers to various careers and the many paths that may lead them to those careers. The GGSE session will be offered on Thursday, May 13, from 4:30-5:45 pm via Zoom.
The panelists will discuss careers in teaching, education research, higher education, and counseling. The panelists are Aaron E. de Santiago-Jones, Director, Educational Opportunity Program & Acting Director, MultiCultural Center; Eric Flores, special education teacher and Teacher Education Program alumnus; Rebeca Mireles-Rios, Assistant Professor, Department of Education; and Miriam Eady Thompson, Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Clinical, Counseling, and School Psychology & Director of the Mind and Behavior Assessment Clinic.

The Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) is a state-wide college preparatory program sponsored by the University of California. UCSB EAOP currently serves students from select schools in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Kern Counties.
