Amanda Barrett and Michelle Van Riper are the recipients of the 2020 Martha Aldridge Promise Award. Both Barrett and Van Riper are pursuing a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a master’s degree in education in the Teacher Education Program.
Family, friends, and colleagues established the Aldridge Memorial Fund to honor Martha Aldridge, a UCSB staff member from 1961 until her death in 1986. This award is given to top credential candidates in the Teacher Education Program to assist with the transition to their first teaching position and the beginning of a promising career in elementary education.
