The South Coast Writing Project (SCWriP) invites teachers of all grade levels to a Tech SCWriP Zoom Meeting on Friday, April 17 at 9 am PST. The event will be led by Dr. Mary Lourdes Silva (SCWriP 2008), Associate Professor of Writing at Ithaca College, and other Tech SCWriP Fellows. It will be an opportunity for the SCWriP community, and other educators who care to join, to share their stories and challenges about suddenly teaching online at their local school sites.
The workshop will offer technical support, resources and lesson plans, step-by-step demonstrations, and also a compassionate ear to simply listen. “If things are working successfully at your school site, please join this meeting to offer support and assistance to those who need your help,” Silva says. “Our community is large enough to support each other through this difficult time, so please join me and my Tech SCWriP Fellows for this Zoom meeting.”
Just join this Zoom Meeting link. If you plan to attend, please take a moment to fill out the online survey prior to the meeting on April 17th.
The event’s sponsor, the South Coast Writing Project (SCWriP), is a network of teachers dedicated to improving student writing by improving the teaching of writing. Directed by Dr. Tim Dewar, they provide professional learning, resources, and expanded roles for teachers throughout the tricounties. SCWriP is an affiliated site of the National Writing Project (NWP) and the California Writing Project (CWP) and has its central office in the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education.
