Amy Meredith and Kelly Hayton
Kelly Hayton and Amy Meredith of UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School were named recipients of the 2013-14 Staff Citation of Excellence Award. The purpose of the Staff Citation of Excellence Awards is to acknowledge and celebrate outstanding achievements and meritorious service of career staff. Ten awards are made annually, with each recipient or team receiving a $500 cash award and a special recognition plaque. Chancellor Henry T. Yang presented the awards to Hayton and Meredith during the annual Staff Celebration Week Luncheon on May 9.
Kelly Hayton is the Manager of Finance and Administration and Amy Meredith is the Manager of Student and Academic Affairs at the Gevirtz School. Their nomination letter noted that both “have performed beyond expectations within their respective areas and have stepped up to take significant leadership roles within the School [after the retirement of long-time Assistant Dean Arlis Markel]. In addition each was instrumental in recruiting and orienting the new Assistant Dean Dorothy Satomi.”
