Liz Holohan, Development Assistant at UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School, was a recipient of a 2019-20 Dilling Yang Scholarship and therefore among those honored in the 2019-20 UCSB Staff Awards. With the scholarship, Holohan was able to take the course Developing a Digital Marketing Strategy through Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) at UCSB during the winter quarter 2020.
“I was so thankful to be selected as one of this year’s Dilling Yang Scholarship recipients,” Holohan says. “I’ve always had an interest in marketing and communications and was excited to learn about the Digital Marketing Certificate offered through PACE. I took Web Analytics this summer and now have one more class left in order to earn the certificate. I hope to be done this winter.”
The Dilling Yang Staff Scholarship Program, named after the wife of UCSB Chancellor Henry Yang, supports professional development for career staff. Scholarships may be used for registration and educational fees for courses, training, and other learning opportunities offered at UCSB.
In addition to providing administrative support for the fundraising team as Development Assistant, Holohan enjoys collaborating with the Director of Communications on the design and content for GGSE newsletter and Instagram account. Last year, she served as President of UCSB’s Professional Women’s Association and remains an active member of the Steering Committee. Born and raised in Newton, MA, Holohan graduated from Carleton College with a BA in Studio Art. Her hobbies include spending time with her partner, their spoiled cat Bernie, and watching too much television.
