Dr. Heidi Zetzer of UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School will be one of the panelists on the webinar “Now What?: Navigating Supervision and Clinical Training During COVID-19” on April 16 from 1-2 pm EST. This event, presented by The Supervision and Training Section of Division 17 of the American Psychological Association, is a space for supervisors and supervisees alike to process the implications of COVID-19 for supervision and training.
The panelists, along with Dr. Zetzer, are Dr. Maria Riva of the University of Denver and Dr. Carmen Cruz of Texas Woman's University. The trio will share their thoughts and reflections on how the pandemic has impacted the ways in which they approach clinical training in their respective settings. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, get support, and exchange ideas on how to continue to foster supervisee growth and protect client welfare in a time of increased chaos and uncertainty.

Dr. Zetzer is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology (CCSP) at UC Santa Barbara and the Director of the Hosford Counseling & Psychological Services Clinic and the Carol Ackerman Positive Psychology Clinic. Dr. Zetzer is the past-president of the Association of Psychology Training Clinics (APTC) and the past-chair of the Section on Supervision and Training of Division 17 of the APA. Dr. Zetzer directs externships, teaches supervision courses and she supervises student clinicians and supervisors. She also provides continuing education programs on positive psychology, evidence-based practice, cultural competence, and multicultural supervision. Dr. Zetzer earned an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Ohio State University in 1986 and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1990. She earned a B.S. in Psychology from Denison University, Granville, Ohio in 1983.
