Emily Evanstein has earned a Graduate Student Association Excellence in Teaching Award for going above and beyond as a teacher at UC Santa Barbara. She was one of the eleven 2019-2020 winners selected from a pool of about 200 nominees.
Bernstein, a doctoral student studying Special Education in the Department of Education, is a teaching associate in the Teacher Education Program, supporting candidates who are pursuing a Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential. Her research focuses on how general education and special education teachers can be taught to collaborate more fully.
